Hover and hope. Lining the seat with toilet paper. Women, in particular, will go to lengths to avoid sitting on a toilet seat. Why? All those stories their mothers told them about what you could ‘catch’. For the record, it is virtually impossible to catch a disease from a toilet seat, but mothers like to cover all bases.

Which is not to say that toilet seat cleanliness is not important. The fact is that a toilet is a receptacle for waste. And when you have to sit on one, particularly one that you know has just been sat on by someone else, you need to feel that it’s clean. Which is why Sanokil Toilet Seat Cleaner should be in the restroom of every hotel, gym, club, hospital, office, restaurant, factory and commercial building.

A simple spray of this specially designed sanitising liquid on a piece of toilet paper allows for a quick wipe down of the toilet seat. The liquid evaporates quickly, leaving a clean, dry surface.

Sanokil Toilet Seat Cleaner allows users to feel secure in the knowledge that the area is clean, dry and sanitary. Mother would approve.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that men’s toilets smell worse than women’s. No judgement, just fact. Google ‘why do men’s toilets smell’ and you’ll discover a range of replies, from suggestions that special extractor fans are used in women’s bathrooms, to the notion that urinal design is to blame. Whichever answer you choose to believe, there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s a situation that needs to be addressed in every office.

Urinal deodorisers – also known as urinal cakes or urinal mints – are small disinfectant blocks designed to clean and freshen washroom urinals. They are placed above the urinal drain. Some are air-release, evaporating slowly upon contact with the air, releasing a fragrance, but not deodorising the flushing water and urine, or cleaning the urinal.

Others, such as Sanokil’s Bio Tabs, are designed to clear the source of urinal clogging and odour by working on the organic waster. Sanokil’s Bio-Tabs dissolve slowly with each flush, releasing its active, biodegradable cleaning ingredients along with a pleasant scent. Bio-Tab blocks are easy to install, economical to use (each block lasts a minimum of one month for most usages) and environmentally safe.

Best of all, they’ll help keep your men’s washrooms fresh and clean, and send the right message to clients and staff.

For more information about Bio Tabs please call Sanokil on 1800 992 135 or Contact Us Online.

If there’s a trend that defines the first decade of the 21st century, it’s the use of fragrance in every area of our lives. It is no longer enough to wear perfume and throw potpourri around a country kitchen. Home fragrance, in-car fragrance… the ever-expanding choices and sophistication of fragrance options and delivery systems proves that it’s important to us. We want to live in a pleasant-smelling world.

Nowhere is this more important than in the restroom. Sanokil Air Fresheners are designed to help combat stale and unpleasant odours. Sanokil Air Freshener units enjoy full service support.

There are two different delivery methods available:

Wash your hands. If there’s one mantra that is vital for efficient, hygienic washroom use it’s the importance of getting people to wash their hands after going to the toilet. If people don’t wash their hands, they can spread germs onto surfaces that others touch – think washroom door handles, for example.

In 2005, the American Society for Microbiology did a survey on hand-washing. They discovered that while 91 per cent of adults say they always wash their hands after using public washrooms, only 83 per cent were seen doing so. Which also leaves nine per cent who don’t even bother to pretend.

As well, 68 per cent of people in the survey don’t wash their hands after coughing and sneezing. And only 42 per cent washed their hands after patting their dog or cat.

Good hand-washing helps prevent the spread of everything from the common cold to illnesses such as meningitis, flue, hepatitis A and most types of diarrhea. Did you know, though, that effective hand-washing takes at least 15 seconds (about the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday) and is not just a matter of running your hands under cold water.

Some tips:

*Use warm water.

*Make sure you use soap.

*Rub hands together vigorously and lather up all surfaces – think of how you’ve seen doctors scrub up on television. Wash the front and back of your hands, between your fingers, around your nails and up to your wrists.

*Rinse well under running water and either pat dry with a clean handtowel, or use a hand dryer until your hands are actually dry.

Employers and business owners can help (and comply with regulations for hand-cleaning facilities) by providing a convenient, simple-to-use soap. Sanokil Soap Dispensers are wall-mounted units that offer a no-mess approach for your amenities. The attractive, non-clog units are sleek and stylish, as well as being durable and hygienic.

Sanokil Soap Dispensers contain high-quality soaps and are regularly serviced. The large push-bar operation makes them simple and comfortable to use, encouraging hand washing.

A modern office, no matter how small, needs a quality sanitary disposal unit in its female washrooms. As most people are now aware, feminine hygiene products should never be flushed down the toilet – they don’t biodegrade easily and can end up in our rivers (environmentally unfriendly) or can block the plumbing (expensive!). Which means that it’s essential that every business provides a safe, convenient alternate method of disposal.

So what should you look for?

There are three main things to bear in mind when you’re choosing a sanitary disposal bin.

1. How does it work?

Some sanitary bins contain a sealed liner and can be disposed of by onsite cleaners. Others require a sanitary bin disposal service to remove the entire unit on a regular basis and replace with a fresh, sanitised bin. In this case, waste is disposed of through a specialist company, expert in contaminated waste treatment.

Sanokil’s Sanitary Disposal Units contain extra strong granules. As sanitary towels and tampons are dropped into the bin, they are enveloped in a powerful sterilising vapour, which destroys germs and eliminates unpleasant odours. Containers are regularly exchanged, ensuring your washroom remains sanitary and hygienic.

2. What does it look like?

A sanitary waste disposal unit should fit discreetly into your washrooms. Always measure the space you have allotted for your unit to ensure it will fit before you order. Sanokil’s Sanitary Disposal Units are sturdy, slimline and user friendly. They measure 610mm x 170mm x 310mm.

3. What service terms is the company offering?

Check with the sanitary bin service to find out how often the units should be serviced. You’re looking for a discreet, reliable and regular service, conducted by professionals. Call Sanokil today on 1800 992 135 to discuss your requirements and how we can help.
